28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

- Jesus is fundamentally different than all other teachers displayed.
- Jesus’s authority was in what he says.
- Jesus’s authority was in what he does (Matthew 4:24).
- His teaching and authority is meant to lead us to Himself.
