Justice in Due Time – Habakkuk 2:6-20

• God will justly punish sin even if it feels like He will not
  • What we see is not the whole story
• Woe #1: Woe through theft through violence – Habakkuk 2:6-8
• Woe #2: Woe through wealth through extortion – Habakkuk 2:9-11
• Woe #3: Woe through power and injustice – Habakkuk 2:12-14
• Woe #4:  Woe for the debauchery and exploitation – Habakkuk 2:15-17
  • woe to you who causes people to stumble on what you are already stumbling ; will come back at you
• Woe #5: Idolatry – Habakkuk 2:18-20
  • Idolatry is defined as the desire for which someone else has
  • Ex 34:6-7
  • 2 Peter 3:9
• He will sustain you through hardship and ultimately make things right
• God called Habakkuk to wait and endure
• Don’t believe the lie that he will not work his promises
• Do I rest in the reality is just?
  • Psalm 23 –

¹ The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
²     He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
³     he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
⁴ Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,^[a]
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
